Sorrow in Uhanya village as a 26-year-old man drowned and died in Uhanya Beach Bondo Siaya county.
This sad turn of events happened on Tuesday at 6 pm as the deceased, identified as Samuel Otieno, was taking a bath on the shores of Lake Victoria when he fell.
The incident was confirmed by Siaya County police commander Cleti Kimaiyo
“We received a report through a member of the Uhunya Beach Management unit security team, Buluma Owino,” he said
“Our officers responded by visiting the scene and processing and documenting before the body was moved to Bondo sub-county mortuary awaiting autopsy,” he noted
“We found out that the deceased who is epileptic had an attack and fell into the water when he was taking his bath at the shore” he added

The victim is said to be suffering from epilepsy. He developed an attack and fell into the water.
The body was also confirmed not to have any visible physical injuries by the police officers who visited the scene.
The efforts of the local fishermen who moved swiftly to rescue the deceased bore no fruit as he was retrieved dead.
