9 Online Jobs That Paid Me 305,867.51 Shillings in January 2020

Listen to this post

How long have I been blogging?

1 year? 2 years, 3 years?

No! I have only done this for 1 year. And over the period I have moved from earning just $19 on my first week of working online to now earning a little over $3,000 a month.

And guess what else.

I ain’t doing anything you can’t do?

Everything I do can be done by anyone who’s willing to put in the time and to commit.

In today’s post of – online jobs that pay – I’ll share with you 9 different gigs that I did in January 2020 to earn 300,000 shillings plus.

I hope you find a thing or two you can do in this list to earn money too.

1. Blogging.

Time and again I have said in this blog that blogging is the heart of my business.

If I am not doing the 17 other gigs on this post, I pay my bills with blog posts.

And contrary to what most people believe, anyone can own a blog and as a mater of fact, it is very cheap to create one.

With just a few dollars for a domain and a hosting package you can start your simple blog from home, work for yourself and earn.

The alternative to working for yourself is hiring someone to create content for your blog.

Interestingly, I also write for other websites as part of my online jobs. I can write for you for at least $30 per 500 word post.

If you want to start your blog and you don’t know how to begin, please create some time to read this DIY guide that I wrote for blogging beginners in 2019. I hope it helps.

2. Options Trading.

When I am not blogging then I’m probably on an options trading site trying to double my income.

Sometimes I win other times I loose but oftentimes, I’m in the money.

If you don’t have an options trading site and you’d love to also make money trading online, open an account with Olymp Trade (the most popular options trading platform in Kenya).

Or Expert Option (the options trading platform which accepts direct Mpesa deposits in Kenya)

3. Forex Trading.

Forex trading is also a great way to make money online. However, you will need to learn before you can earn.

Unlike options trading (online jobs) which only require that you tap/press/click the red button on your screen to sell option or the green button on your phone to buy option; Forex trading will require that you also set take profit, stop loss among other important actions to facilitate your trade.

If you’d like to trade Forex and you don’t know where to start, download my Free trading eBook here.

It is a comprehensive Forex guide for beginners. It should help you with the basics.

4. Affiliate marketing .

A huge chunk of the cash I earned online in January came through affiliate marketing.

Interestingly, I only run 4 affiliate programs on this blog and each is just as profitable as the other.

Here are examples of commissions earned on this blog through affiliate marketing in January 2020.

5. Google Adsense.

Unlike all the other best ways to make money online that I have listed on this post, google adsense pays me peanuts.

However, it is the only reliable, trusted and arguably the only platform for making money online never disappoints.

Despite the payouts being small, adsense pays on time and is a great way to make money everyday, forever.

Below is an example of earning from my adsense account – payment for January being the €133.18 or 14,794.59 Kenyan Shilling.

5. Social Media Management.

Social media management is another interesting small online job that I do with this blog.

I help create content consumed in social media, I schedule, analyze and represent a number of small businesses in Kisumu as their sole voice across a myriad of social media channels.

For this I charge as little as 20,000 shillings depending on the simplicity of the task and up to thousands of shillings depending on the complexity of a projects.

You can visit our offices in Kisumu – K-City Market, shop number 75 for more insights on social media management.

Alternatively, drop us an email at info@joon.co.ke.

6. Search Engine Optimization.

Search engine optimization or SEO is the process of improving the quality and quantity of web traffic by making twerks on websites or web pages to increase their visibility on web search engines.

A quick one, how did you get to my blog?

Did you type my URL (joon.co.ke) to get here, or you searched for a Keyword e.g Olymp Trade  and got my website on the first page of google.

If you came in through google then that’s precisely because I have optimized my website to hold the position it holds on google, number 1.

The best thing about SEO is, when done well, your traffic will keep increasing consistently even when you are not online.

Have a look at the stats below to see how joon.co.ke has grown over time. courtesy of a good SEO framework that I have in place.

That’s not to say that you can not do your own SEO, you can do it for your website or as part of your side online jobs.

If I can do it, why can’t you?

7. Web Design.

Much as I have written tens of DIY guides on this blog to help you design your own websites from scratch, I’m still open to helping you and your small business with the website design process.

In January 2020 I helped design two websites and I’m in the process of re-branding and re-purposing another. First African Insurance.

I charge as little as 15,000 shillings for an out of the box website like mine (joon.co.ke) and slightly above 90,000 shillings for a custom made website with multiple features.

No hidden costs.

8. Pay Per Click.

Pay-per-click marketing is a way of using search engine advertising to generate clicks to your website, rather than getting those clicks organically (often, through Search engine optimization).

As digital marketers, we make money on Joon when we help online businesses create effective ads that run on google.

An example of a pay per click ad is the first text you see on google when you search for something. Often distinguished with a bold Ad text preceding the advert.

9. Thought Leadership.

As a serious business in your field you’ll want to be recognized as an authority in what you do.

But how do you get this recognition if you don’t seek it?

Good question.

The simplest answer is, use thought leadership marketing to position yourself in the market.

Though leadership is about providing the best, deepest answers, to your customers’ biggest questions and in the formats they like to consume.

You can relay your answers through videos, photography, branding, copy writing, landing pages, blogging, eCommerce sites and websites.

All which we do at Joon.
